When Preparation Meets Opportunity

Before Iron Flora became a formal workshop, it began in small, informal moments.

I would occasionally demonstrate simple techniques to friends and colleagues — how to shift weight when someone stands too close, how to break a basic grip, how small adjustments in posture can change how you are perceived. Nothing elaborate. Just practical, accessible techniques.

What struck me was how often the response was the same:

“I didn’t know it could be that simple.”

Those small demonstrations led to conversations. Conversations led to interest. And eventually, an opportunity arose to conduct a session through EWC at the Singapore Institute of Technology.

I saw it as a trial — a chance to test whether the framework I had been refining over the years could hold up in a formal setting.

When the newsletter announcing the session was released, I did not expect what happened next. The seats were fully taken within two hours.

The response surprised me — not because I doubted the material, but because it confirmed something important: the need is real.

There was enough interest that I decided to double the seating capacity. The session expanded, and the engagement during the workshop was thoughtful, open, and sincere. The questions were practical. The reflections were honest. The energy in the room told me that this was more than curiosity — it was readiness.

That experience affirmed a quiet belief I have held for years. Women are not lacking strength. They are often lacking structured access to it.

The session at SIT was not just a workshop. It was proof of concept.

Iron Flora is still at the beginning of its journey, but this was a meaningful step forward — one that reinforced why I started, and why I intend to continue.
